JASA Weekend Conference – Celebrating Sense and Sensibility
JASA is delighted to invite members and other Jane Austen fans to our first weekend conference since 2018. We have some fabulous international and local speakers coming to instruct and enlighten us.
Aspects of Sense and Sensibility being discussed include drawing and perception, the power of the purse strings, bodies and the weather, artistic interpretations, children, the many duels of the novel, and the changing times of Austen’s England. There will also be a fun session on the three Johns (Middleton, Dashwood and Willoughby), and the Saturday evening entertainment will be a performance of the play What Did Lucy Steele?, acted by Susannah Fullerton and Pamela Whalan.
The JASA Weekend Conference is a lovely opportunity to get to know other members and make new friends, while enjoying wonderful talks and further delving into Jane Austen’s rich and superb first published novel.
We hope to see you all in Canberra in July! Here is all the information and how to book.
